PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Job Description:
The Program Director manages the day-to-day business operation in collaboration with the DON or an appointed Assistant. Performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, and professional work to support the program.
- Manages and supervises operations of the program.
- Motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
- Communicates official plans, programs, policies and procedures to staff and the general public.
- Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; prepares annual budget requests.
- Assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Resolves complex and sensitive customer service issues, either personally, by telephone or in writing.
- Prepares and administers annual operating budget.
- Ensures the maintenance of accurate and complete records of agency activities
- Serves as a member of various staff committees as assigned.
- Attends professional development workshops and conferences to keep abreast of trends and developments in DDA
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing training program and/or Business Administration; and or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience, with additional education substituting on a year for year basis for the required experience.
Other Qualifying Requirements:
- Minimum age of 25 years old
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree, professional license, certification by a nationally recognized program, demonstrate one (1) year of life experiences and skills in providing or arranging for the provision of education and training to individuals with developmental disabilities and their family caregivers or a similar population.
- Have required credential, license, and/or certification.
- Health clearance/physical, current within 12 months.
- Pass a criminal background investigation and other required checks.
- Possess a valid driver’s license if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to provide services.
- Have automobile insurance for automobiles that are owned, leased, and/or hired and used in the provision of services.
- Good verbal communication skills; communicates well in spoken and written English.
- Be current in First Aid and CPR certification.
- 1-9 Documentation (Authorized to work in the United States)
- Social Security (Social Security Card as ID).
- TB or Chest X-ray within 12 months
- Hepatitis B series/declination
- At least Two (2) letters of Reference (must be in good standing).
- Verification of past employment History
Experience:
- Supervision and training of subordinates in a healthcare facility, minimum of 1 year
- Business management skills helpful; assist administrator with daily business operations as needed and assigned; including record maintenance and management.
